Judge Student History Fair Projects and Become Part of the Good News Story in Civic Education!
The Chicago Metro History Fair, a program of the Chicago History Museum, invites you to serve as a judge for the 2020 History Fair. As a judge, you will evaluate historical research projects -- documentaries, performances, exhibits, websites or research papers on topics related to Chicago history produced by local students in grades 6-8 or 9-12. No previous experience or specialized degree in history or education are necessary. All you need is an appreciation for student effort, an interest in history, and a commitment to quality education. On the day of the History Fair event, you will received a full orientation and each new History Fair judge will be paired with an experienced judge. CMHF needs 400+ volunteer judges each season, so your participation makes a difference! Please see the many judging opportunities that are available and select the session that works best for you.

Description
The Chicago Metro History Fair offers students in grades 6-12 the opportunity to "Make History" themselves by producing history projects on topics and questions that interest them. After conducting their own research to develop their own interpretation, students share their projects with public volunteer judges. Volunteers may view exhibits, websites, documentaries, performances, and papers. It is a rewarding experience for the adults and the students. Every judge counts because every student counts.
