"Now in their time of need, we have a chance to honor them"
We are seeking compassionate Veterans or veteran-connected volunteers willing to serve Veterans and their families at end of life.
Veteran Volunteer activities may include:
*Non-medical Companionship with friendly visits that support emotional well-being and active listening that supports reminiscing
*The opportunity to participate in memorial ceremonies honoring the service of our Veteran patients
All volunteer activities adhere to safety precautions of appropriate handwashing, social distancing and PPE.
Hospice Volunteer Training is provided free of charge. Hours are flexible with no minimum expectation.
Apex Hospice and Palliative Care is a 4-Star member of the National "We Honor Veterans" program. Honor your military service by honoring those who served with and for you.

Description
APEX Hospice and Palliative Care seeks to meet the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of patients and families who are facing a terminal illness. We focus on quality of life by providing comfort, company and active treatment of distressing symptoms, with the patient and their family as the focus of care.
Volunteers are an integral part of the Apex team and can find meaning, purpose and peace in supporting patients and loved ones during this time. Apex Hospice has successfully placed volunteers in roles that add to the quality of life of the patient and family while using the gifts of the volunteers.
