As part of Tijuana River Action Month (TRAM) , help restore native habitat. Volunteers will use hand tools, tarps, and bags to remove and dispose of the invasive species crystalline ice plant ( Mesembryanthemum crystallinum ) from a sensitive habitat area in Border Field State Park (BFSP) . As the volunteers pull the ice plant out of the worksite, they will make small piles on tarps and then transport the piles into a dumpster using wheelbarrows and small wagons . There will be a large dumpster set up near the worksite for the disposal of the ice plant . After the event, volunteers are invited to join another TRAM event, Unite to Heal our Coast . While Border Field State Park remains closed to the public due to cross-border sewage flows , the project area has been cleared of any safety concerns and is unaffected by the sewage flows you may have heard about in local news. Overall, c ross-border sewage flows have decreased in the area; however, a small trickle still runs across a section of Monument Road.

PLEASE NOTE: Registration is required to ensure volunteers receive important details on where to meet the group and what to bring. Please sign up on our webpage https://volunteer.calparks.org/
