We are having our annual fund raiser Eat Rich, Play Dirty. Experience the Art of Play while you create, taste and toast the arts at the Morean Center for Clay. Enjoy an evening of creative adventure as you taste decadent and savory bites, mix & mingle with emerging and established artists, get your hands dirty, expand your collection, or enjoy the excitement of starting one while supporting the oldest arts organization in St. Petersburg

NEW: Delve into Raku, inspired by traditional Japanese raku firing, with your own handmade cup as a special keepsake from the event.

We need about 30 volunteers on a staggered schedule for this event. It would be:

10 volunteers for Set up (5-7pm)
15 for check in and helping with the event (6:30-9pm)
10 for Helping with the event and breakdown (8-11pm)

Description

The Morean Arts Center, with roots dating back to 1917 as the Art Club of St. Petersburg, focuses on an innovative, community-oriented approach to art and art education. We offer adult programs, kids’ programs, family programs, early childhood programs, and summer camp programs, attracting beginners and advanced students alike. The Chihuly Collection, which is a stunning, permanent collection of world-renowned artist Dale Chihuly’s unique artwork. The Glass Studio & Hotshop at the Morean provides working space for glass artists, comfortable audience seating to watch glass-blowing in action, and teaching facilities for studio classes and workshops. The Morean Center for Clay offers educational courses in working with clay, studio space, gallery sales, event rentals, exhibitions and is home to a renowned artist-in-residence program.
