Hello! We are a small but mighty (and growing!) nonprofit with educational programs for youth and their families in the rural southern region of Malawi, a tiny landlocked country in South East Africa. We are looking for a volunteer to take over our social media during our end of year fundraising season (end of Sept. 2021-early Jan 2022) and share our amazing story with the world (Please note this opportunity does not require fundraising experience or skills).

This opportunity is ideal for a millennial with mad social media skills to add something powerful to their resume or for anyone who has a little bit of extra time and wants to give back through storytelling. Ideal volunteer is familiar with Facebook/Instagram integration, photo editing (Canva), hashtags, filters and has an eye for visual aesthetics. You don't have to be an expert at social media, we just want someone whose passionate about the world's poor and can commitment an hour or two a week to posting and/or scheduling future posts. This position is remote and super flexible (ie we will not be breathing down your back so you can run with it and make this your own project), so you work where you want when you want and in return you get to do something extraordinary for our children and their families in Malawi.

Details:
You will be managing our Instagram & Facebook accounts and growing our audience and followers through weekly engagement. This includes 1-2 weekly posts, responding to comments, following relevant accounts and using your own network to connect others to our cause. The only requirement for this position is that you already have an established social media presence on both platforms.

In return for your time, you will receive a RiseUp T-shirt, acknowledgement on our website or in our newsletter, letter of recommendation if needed and that wonderful feeling of knowing you did something amazing to help one of the world's most economically challenged populations. This position is ideal for someone passionate about Africa and supporting others on their life journeys.

*As a non-profit we are actively engaged in projects to help stop the spread of COVID in Malawi. These projects include community education & awareness demonstrations, the distribution of soap and face masks to the most vulnerable in our community, & equipping strategic spaces with hands free washing stations. We use our social media to share these initiatives with our supporters.

We are looking for someone to start right away so if this opportunity speaks to you please get in touch!
