Hospice Volunteers serve with Passion and Purpose. We are searching for volunteers, in all programs, who are willing to help add quality of life to end of life. Volunteers are happiness arriving at the door!
Volunteers can choose from a variety of programs including: Companions (Non-Medical Friendly Visiting)
Music Companions, Together We Serve (teams of 2), Bereavement Support, Legacy Projects,
Love On Leashes Pet Team, We Honor Veterans, Together We Care Callers, and/or Administrative Assistance.
No experience is necessary. Training and Support is provided.
Volunteer close to home, work or school at hours convenient to you. We serve patients in 16 counties of the greater Chicago area.

APEX Hospice and Palliative Care seeks to meet the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of patients and families who are facing a terminal illness. We focus on quality of life by providing comfort, company and active treatment of distressing symptoms, with the patient and their family as the focus of care. Services are provided by a team of professionals and volunteers who are physician directed and nurse coordinated. Comfort and coping resources are provided to the family for up to 13 months following the death of their loved one. "Family" is patient defined, and may include friends, significant others, life partners and relatives by blood or marriage. It is the expectation of APEX Hospice and Palliative Care that all employees and volunteers are strongly committed to the dignity and worth of each individual human being. Integrity and responsibility are expected conduct in all contacts with patients, families, other service providers, coworkers and the public.

- Hours are flexible and based on program and personal availability
- Background, TB Test, Physical, Drug Screen, Annual Flu Vaccine arranged and paid for by Apex Hospice. 16-17yrs may volunteer with parental consent and a partner volunteer over 18.
