ORGANIZATION: Habitat for Humanity of Snohomish County

AmeriCorps gives individuals an opportunity to serve in full-time stipendiary positions with Habitat for Humanity to help meet the housing needs of communities and low-income families throughout the U.S.
The construction systems development VISTA creates, documents and implements a repair program plan to increase the number of families served in Snohomish County and expand the affiliate’s services provided to the community. The member will research and identify repair program best practices, design a program that fills repair needs in the community and generate the resources needed to launch this program. This will include program management in its beginning stages and involve scheduling the entire process, tracking paperwork, coordinating all activities related to repairs. The member’s responsibilities include launching the repair program and evaluating its effectiveness in the first months, making changes and finalizing the program to hand off to a staff member, volunteer or committee.

LIVING ALLOWANCE

$1026 - $2010 monthly

ADDITIONAL BENEFITS

Many benefits vary by service location. However, all Habitat AmeriCorps members will have the opportunity to travel to the Habitat AmeriCorps Build-a-Thon, an annual blitz build event. Habitat AmeriCorps members also receive a variety of position-specific training including CPR/First Aid, Lockton Safety Courses, and many more. Our Snohomish County affiliate also provides members with an additional $150 grocery and gas stipend in the form of a gift card. Other professional development opportunities are provided to members.
