Join us on a local Escondido grove from 9am - 11:30am on Monday - Thursday mornings year around! This volunteer opportunity is for people of all ages and gets you out with the butterflies and bees, picking citrus by hand or with a picker pole and preparing it for transport.

This position is influential in actively gleaning healthy produce for San Diego’s food insecure and preventing this excess fruit from going to waste. Volunteers learn how to utilize picking poles to reach fruit and become part of the solution through community-driven work.

Experience firsthand the tactical aspect of food recovery principles and become an ambassador of sustainable food systems.

Volunteers are asked to wear sturdy shoes as well as bring a water bottle. You will be provided with necessary equipment and orientation at local grove in Valley Center.
