The Communications Training Volunteer will leverage his/her experience in communications, specifically internal and external affairs. To inspire employees to value their role as institutional ambassadors by virtue of their position, areas of focus will include email best practices, presentation and meeting communication, business collaboration, and in some cases, trainings in media opportunities. Each session will inspire staff to think creatively about their work, empower them with skills to speak about key institutional initiatives and challenge them to improve their day-to-day interpersonal collaboration with colleagues.

The volunteer will be required to understand the communications team’s quarterly priorities, develop an impactful curriculum with those priorities integrated, implement trainings on a quarterly basis and identify new training subjects to add value.

Using follow-up surveys with participants, the communications team will measure the impact of the volunteer as a subject matter expert, an external voice who provides insight and a mentor for junior staff striving to grow their communication skills broadly.

To begin the application process for this role, please email your resume to volunteer@911memorial.org and mention the Communications Training Volunteer role.

Although the 9/11 Memorial & Museum is temporarily closed, we are still processing volunteer applications regularly and are conducting interviews for selected volunteer applicants remotely.
