ORGANIZATION: Project Helping

  • 5 people are interested

WHAT WE WILL DO:

Join Project Helping volunteers to prepare dinner for approximately 60 youth from the Sun Valley Youth Center. The Sun Valley Kitchen & Community Center is a safe and supportive space to explore life’s possibilities, and SVKCC serves children and families with food and love. Help provide healthy food access for kids in the lowest income community in the Denver metro area. Come help prep, serve and clean up!

The Sun Valley neighborhood is made of up 1500 residents with 99.5% under median income, and half of Sun Valley residents are 18 years old and younger. Sun Valley Kitchen and Community Center provides children and families in Sun Valley with opportunities for self-expression, self-awareness and personal growth, while fostering unity within the dynamic, multi-cultural neighborhood. They provide food access, employment opportunities, educational resources, space to connect, and mentorship and support.
