Empower yourself and your community by learning a new skill, or using the skills you already have! The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program is seeking volunteers to help low income and senior community members get the most out of their tax filings.
Purpose: Help with paperwork that can seem overwhelming to someone who is unfamiliar with filing taxes. Assist clients in organizing paperwork, filling out forms, and filing taxes.
What you could be doing: meet with individuals needing assistance with filing taxes. Meetings may take place at the client’s home, at community centers, or other settings.
Qualifications: Polite, helpful, problem solver, patient, be willing to complete online and in-person training. No previous experience needed- you will be supervised by a professional who can help you with any problems you may run into.
Timeframe: A handfull of online training hours + a handfull of in-person training hours, followed by appointments with clients throughout the year. Flexible.
