PRIMARY PURPOSE: The APPRECIATION COORDINATOR is responsible for communicating the
progress, events, and daily activities of the Area Management Team (AMT), local programs, and
athletes within the AMT as well as to the general public.

PRIMARY DUTIES:
* Correspondence: Prepare and distribute all thank you notes and letters as requested
from the AMT to all volunteers, athletes, donors, and sponsors involved with our
mission.
* Materials: work with area director on history of thank you’s and identifying new
methods of gratitude.

EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE: The ability to communicate effectively with others verbally and in
writing. The Appreciation Coordinator understands the value of time and resources given by
volunteers; enjoys writing and devising other creative ways to extend thanks; and likes to create
signs, banners, and posters. Must complete Class A volunteer application and screening process
through Special Olympics Montana.

TRAINING PROVIDED: New coordinator orientation and position-specific training provided by
Special Olympics Montana staff. Ongoing training provided annually.

COMPENSATION: Smiles, hugs, and lifelong friendships! This is a volunteer, non-paid position.
Allowable expense reimbursements are available.
