Bozeman area - Assistant Area Director needed!

Special Olympics in the Bozeman Area is searching for an Assistant Area Director! Do you enjoy working with a team of dynamic volunteer leaders? The Assistant Area Director comes alongside the Area Director in assisting with the administrative needs of the area management team and filling in for the AD as needed. With input from the local board, the Big Sky Area Management team, the assistant AD helps create budgets, calendars and agendas, helping serve as the primary liaison to state Outreach staff. Butte area - Communications Coordinator needed!

Special Olympics in the Billings, or surrounding areas are actively searching for a Communications Coordinator. Do you have strengths in communicating, organization and have good people skills? If so, this position could be for you! The COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR is responsible for communicating the progress, events, and daily activities of the local programs, and athletes within the greater Butte area as well as to the general public. Managing the social media pages regularly to reflect current events and announcements for the local board, called the area management team and SOMT teams in the community. Promoting the achievements of area athletes and volunteers by collecting stories and sharing them via social media and newsletter will allow all of our community to shine! Billings area - Volunteer Coordinator

Special Olympics Montana in the Billings Area is looking for a Volunteer Coordinator to invite others in their community to participate in the joy-inspiring experience of volunteering with Special Olympics. The Volunteer Coordinator manages volunteers for sports program and competition opportunities. This position serves in a leadership position on the local board, called the Yellowstone Valley area management team and maintains the various lists of volunteer roles and their assignments, coordinating with local and state volunteers & staff. Prior experience with a nonprofit organization or sports organization is helpful, but not required. The ability to communicate openly and in a timely manner is needed. Missoula Area - Fundraising Coordinator

Raising funds from community businesses and donors is a crucial part of the movement to include all that are eligible for our sports programs. Missoula area - Assistant Local Program Coordinator

The Diamondbacks are an adult Special Olympics community team who is growing so much that they need some extra hands. The Local Program Coordinator (LPC) ensures that volunteers and athletes are prepared to participate in year-round local and state competitions and events. Depending on the size of the team, an LPC can manage a team alone or with the help of an Assistant LPC to provide general oversight for all team operations. An assistant LPC would help recruit & train new athletes and volunteers and facilitate team communications and fundraising. Volunteer orientation and ongoing training provided by Special Olympics Montana staff. This is a volunteer, non-paid position. Allowable expense reimbursements are available.

You simply can't come away from a volunteer experience with Special Olympics without a smile on your face. The athletes are enthusiastic and happy to be with you and when it's over, you realize you "got" just as much (or even more) out of the experience as you "gave." And you are able to give others a positive life experience. It feels great!

Special Olympics Montana is a very rewarding organization to be a part of. You will be inspired in every single thing that you do and every interaction you have. A very awesome part is that volunteering opportunities are available for all needs - one day, two days, one week, a season, a year. You choose and just get involved. But be careful, because after 1 hour you'll be hooked for life! :)

SOMT is by far the best place to spend my volunteer time. That's why I have stuck with it for the past 15 years. The athletes and other volunteers know how to work hard but they also know how to have FUN and thats just one of the reasons why I LOVE SOMT!!!

You get paid in hugs! The Special Olympics athletes are truly the most genuine people you will ever work with. They are your friend the moment you meet them. Volunteering with Special Olympics has changed my life. It gives me a sense of purpose and a place to belong. Special Olympics Montana Rocks!
