We need people for set up of games, signage, check-in tables, moderation of games to make sure players are following the rules, help with videoing, checking players in, directing players where to go, help picking up darts at the end of each day or after games, break down of games and check-in areas, loading things in and out of cars, selling pizza, water, and candy, runners for errands and bringing things to various people in different parts of the campus, etc. Everything that's needed to run a fun event!
(This event was canceled in 2020/21/22 due to COVID-19, but will be back strong for 2023. Now is a great opportunity to be involved in the planning of 2023 via virtual monthly meetings to dream up game design and discuss logistics.)
UPDATE 8/14/23: We confirmed our location and date for the first weekend in October, and this event is a GO! Please sign up to help! It’s a blast! We are a non profit and can sign off on volunteer hours for teens!

Description
Foamwar, inc., made up of volunteer nerf enthusiasts and their families, runs Ragnarocktoberfest, an annual, weekend-long nerf event featuring a convention for vendors, modding party meetup, story-based and battle based games, and 5v5 competition for children and adults. We will be adding modding parties throughout the year and other events as we grow. We just hosted our 5th annual event at Independence High School in San Jose in October. We promote being active and outside, building community, learning leadership and team-building skills, and promoting STEAM education via modifying nerf blasters such that they look and perform better via upgraded batteries, wiring, parts, and paint jobs. We are looking for volunteers to get involved early in the planning as well as to help at the event.

REQUIREMENTS
- Must be at least 14
- At least a 4-hour shift, but we'd love to have volunteers work for multiple shifts all weekend to reduce training or at least 8 hours. We are a 501c3 and can sign off on volunteer service hours for teens.
