Lantern Community Services champions the independence and well-being of chronically homeless New Yorkers. We believe the best way to end homelessness is to give people a stable, affordable home, and that supportive housing is the first step towards a better life.

At one of our Lantern locations in Mott Haven, we are looking for an after-school teacher to engage the young children in the building in different activities and projects. This could range from homework help to running a book club to starting an arts project. Most of the students are in elementary and middle school and would really benefit from academic support in the building.

We would like a volunteer teacher for after-school activities from 3:30pm-5:30pm on Mondays and/or Wednesdays. There is a lot of flexibility for a volunteer teacher to be creative in designing activities and projects for our students so we have a preference for those with some background in education.
