Two outdoor events, one day! The Lagoon Foundation will be hosting a trail clean-up onsite at the Discovery Center as well as a Limonoium eradication event (an invasive plant species in the lagoon). Both events will be held 9am - Noon. One team member will lead members on the trail, another into the watershed.
Event 1: Trail Clean-Up (removal of weeds, smoothing out trail, cutting back, trash pick-up, cutting in stairs)
Event 2: Limonium Eradication (hand-pulling limonium from the watershed, and adding additional solarization tarps)
Where: meet at AHLF (1580 Cannon Road, Carlsbad CA 92008)
Date: January 18th
Time: 9am - Noon
What to Wear: Clothes you don’t mind getting dirty/muddy, a hat, sunscreen, mud boots. For event 2, mud boots recommended. It is very slick and muddy on the reserve, rubber boots you can wash off after are the best options. A re-usable water bottle.
If interested, please reply with what event. Event 1 is family friendly. Event 2, is harder terrain and effort, not suitable for kids or not physically fit persons.
