Forward Ever Sustainable Business Alliance, nonprofit manager of the Shop Newark program, is looking for an individual to join the team to support the Executive Director and the Outreach Coordinator.
The ideal candidate is reliable, a team player, detail oriented, should have a passion for community development, and should be confident representing Shop Newark to diverse stakeholders in community, government, and business sectors.
Pay Rate: $15.00 per hour
Expected hours per week: 6.5 hours
Schedule: Flexibly scheduled during normal 9-5 working hours with minimal evening and weekend hours depending on events.
Required:
- Must reliably keep scheduling commitments, including arriving on time
- Must be able to use your own laptop and bring it to events
- Strong communication skills
- Must enjoy working with the public
- Must be able to get around the city
Major Responsibilities Include:
- Sharing information to potential cardholders about the Shop Newark Program
- Signing up new cardholders to Shop Newark
- Working with the Outreach Coordinator to communicate reminders and check ins to current Shop Newark vendors
- Working with the Outreach Coordinator to develop potential Shop Newark Vendor contact information and leads
- General mailing and office support as needed

Forward Ever Sustainable Business Alliance (Forward Ever) is an affiliate network of the esteemed Business Alliance for Local Living Economies (BALLE), North America's fastest growing network of socially responsible businesses, comprised of over 80 community networks in 30 U.S. states and Canadian provinces representing over 22,000 independent business members across the U.S. and Canada.
Forward Ever will be the FIRST urban affiliate of BALLE and will glean from national best practices to serve independent locally owned businesses in the Greater Newark area to support the development of a sustainable local economy through innovation in entrepreneurship and social ventures.
Our vision is to create dynamic collaborations that expand economic self-reliance, job creation and a sustainable local economy for the Greater Newark area where local businesses thrive, are prosperous, and contribute to a healthy environment and the wealth and well-being of all citizens.
