Come join our team! Direction Home Akron Canton Area Agency on Aging & Disabilities is giving you an opportunity to make a difference! We’re currently looking for volunteers to join our Health Coach Program who assist with:

  • Educating the elderly about falls
  • Empowering those who have fallen or have a fear of falling
  • Strengthening and stretching training regimen
A Matter of Balance is an evidence based program that helps the elderly reduce fear of falling. This program is designed to be 8 weeks of education and exercise in 2 hour sessions that help the elderly view falls as controllable, set goals, and more. Falling is not a part of aging and you can help the people in your community learn this.

We need volunteers who are passionate about making sure the elderly in our community are healthy and able to continue living in their homes as long as possible.

Direction Home Akron Canton centers long-term care on the person - not the problem. We really get to know you and your loved ones, so that we can help you navigate your long-term care options with dignity and understanding. Direction Home Akron Canton will be the central access point and the preferred long-term care management organization for all people with disabilities.
