ORGANIZATION: One Community

Net-zero Bathroom

One Community is an all-volunteer nonprofit sustainability think tank. Our team is global and we do all our work virtually. We're seeking an electrician or MEP Engineer to help us finish electrical plans for this open source water-saving bathroom design: https://www.onecommunityglobal.org/water-recycling-net-zero-bathroom-design/

SKILL REQUIREMENTS

* 2+ years industry experience required
* Minimum of 10 weekly volunteer hours (work from home)
* Must have and know how to use AutoCAD

WHY THIS IS IMPORTANT

Earthbag construction is a method of producing buildings that can be constructed durably, affordably, and without prior experience. The water-recycling net-zero bathroom is built using earthbag construction and as a beneficial option for eco-communities, campgrounds, developing countries/areas, and anywhere water resources are scarce and/or people are interested in sustainability. Open sourcing these designs as part of the Earthbag Village is meant to demonstrate what is possible and provide everything needed for objective evaluation and replication.

DESIGN INTENT

  • Must conform to the guidelines of the NEC
  • Must conform to existing net-zero bathroom designs

  • Construction and permit-ready plans
