PET THERAPY TEAMS:
Are you part of an amazing Pet Therapy team??
Kaiser Permanente would love to have you be part of our amazing team of volunteers.
Our pet teams provide love and support to our inpatient population and staff, as well as patients and staff at many of our out-patient clinics all over San Diego County.
Think your pup has what it takes?? Love on a Leash and Alliance Pet Therapy and Independent Dog Therapy are a few local organizations that can certify your pet.

Requirements:
- Be at least 12 months old (the pet)
- Provide a Health Certificate with up-to-date immunizations
- Certification as a pet therapy dog
- Bonus: Good Citizenship Certificate
- High school students accepted if accompanied by a parent

- Background Check
- Must be at least 16
- Orientation or Training
- Visits are usually once per week about 2 hours, but teams dictate their own schedules if they want to come more frequently.
- Pet Therapy Certification Required, Must complete Kaiser Permanente Volunteer Application, Interview, Orientation (all virtual) as well as agree to a background check and annual health screening. Health Care Volunteers are required to be vaccinated.
