The Volunteer Connection Lead is a vital part of the Volunteer Services Team! This individual oversees the utilization and access of the official American Red Cross volunteer management system known as Volunteer Connection (VC). In this exciting position the VC Lead will have the opportunity to work with people from every department at the Red Cross!
Responsibilities:
- Serve as departmental champion of Volunteer Connection
- Provide expert support and guidance to department in the proper and maximized utilization of Volunteer Connection
- Establish an ongoing Volunteer Connection training calendar
- Conduct Volunteer Connection training, using official American Red Cross training materials for volunteers and volunteer supervisors
- Serve as a department Volunteer Connection expert
- Provide leadership and support to volunteers and staff to ensure they have the tools they need to be productive
Qualifications:
- Enthusiastic about Red Cross mission and programs
- Leadership Skills
- Cultural sensitivity to diverse audiences
- Knowledge and understanding of Red Cross services and operations and opportunities for volunteer service (a plus)
- Work well both individually and with others
- Relationship building skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff/volunteer partners as well as board members and senior management
- Understand the value of volunteers
Training is provided to the Volunteer Connection Lead at no cost to them. The Red Cross asks that the volunteer in this position give a minimum of 4 hours of service a week. This can be done either in an office or remotely.
