Cadence Hospice is seeking a licensed beautician, cosmetologist/barber/etc who would like to give their time and skills to a hospice patient. A hair cut, hair styling or simple nail care can do so much to lift the spirits of our patients. We provide hospice services to adults diagnosed with a life-limiting illness, who have a prognosis of 6 months or less to live should the disease take its natural course. Hospice services are provided wherever the patient calls home, whether in their own, board and care home or nursing facility. Cadence Hospice provide hospice services to patients across Orange County, as far north into LA County as Whittier and La Habra, down to San Clemente and San Bernardino County (i.e Rancho Cucamonga, Pomona, and Chino Hills), wherever the patient calls home. Patients may reside in their own home, board and care home or facility.
For non-hospice patients, it is often easy and convenient to go out and get a haircut, get our nails done, etc. For a hospice patient that may reside at home or care facility and unable to go out for these simple things, your talents and generous volunteer time would do so much to lift their spirits and provide comfort and dignity. A hair cut and simple nail trim would do so much to contribute to giving the patient comfort and dignity at their end-of-life. We would love to collaborate with you to improve the quality of life for our patients.
This opportunity is available to you and can be done around your schedule and availability. We would just be grateful for the opportunity to provide this service to the patients we serve.
We are actively recruiting for volunteers at this time. The COVID-19 outbreak has prevented us from making visits to patients but recently we have seen some slow but forward movement towards visiting again. We are taking the time to recruit more volunteers so that once visitations can resume we can hit the ground running with our new recruits. Please respond for information on how you can volunteer with Cadence Hospice! We are dedicated to utilizing the unique talents and generous time of our volunteers to contribute to the comfort and dignity of our patients. Your unique skills will truly help to improve the quality of life for our patients. We are flexible and are willing to work with your time and availability.
Please respond to our ad for information on how to get started. We need you and are looking forward to hearing from you!
At Cadence Hospice, we understand that this is a difficult time for family and friends. Our caring staff and volunteers endeavor to provide an atmosphere of love, caring, peace, and dignity to each individual we serve. We also want the patients and their families to have the opportunity to live the remainder of your life with respect, understanding and joy. Our volunteers have an opportunity to provide comfort care for the patient and/or families whether it be for 30 minutes to an hour during the patient visits. Our team strives to function with compassion and care in order to give the families and patients full support.
As a volunteer with Cadence Hospice you can make a positive impact in the lives of our patients, caregivers, and their families. Volunteers are an integral part of our program and the care we provide; we are always looking for compassionate individuals to join our Volunteer Program/Team. As a volunteer you can donate your time, at a patient’s place of residence, in a variety of ways including companionship and caregiver relief. While volunteering your time with our patients you could just sit and be present, share stories, watch a movie, listen to music, read aloud the patient’s favorite book, and much more!
Your service is invaluable to patients, their caregivers and families, and for our Cadence Hospice staff. Free training is provided to get you prepared to go out into the field, and staff is available to support you on your journey volunteering. Don’t pass up this amazing opportunity! We look forward to hearing from you!
