Cadence Hospice is seeking a licensed beautician, cosmetologist/barber/etc who would like to give their time and skills to a hospice patient. A hair cut, hair styling or simple nail care can do so much to lift the spirits of our patients. We provide hospice services to adults diagnosed with a life-limiting illness, who have a prognosis of 6 months or less to live should the disease take its natural course. Hospice services are provided wherever the patient calls home, whether in their own, board and care home or nursing facility. Cadence Hospice provide hospice services to patients across Orange County, as far north into LA County as Whittier and La Habra, down to San Clemente and San Bernardino County (i.e Rancho Cucamonga, Pomona, and Chino Hills), wherever the patient calls home. Patients may reside in their own home, board and care home or facility.
For non-hospice patients, it is often easy and convenient to go out and get a haircut, get our nails done, etc. For a hospice patient that may reside at home or care facility and unable to go out for these simple things, your talents and generous volunteer time would do so much to lift their spirits and provide comfort and dignity. A hair cut and simple nail trim would do so much to contribute to giving the patient comfort and dignity at their end-of-life. We would love to collaborate with you to improve the quality of life for our patients.
What the opportunity might look like for you is this: A couple of days a month, you may drive to 2-3 patient homes and provide a haircut for hospice patient's who can no longer go out to have their hair cut.

Whether the need is physical, spiritual or emotional, our compassionate hospice experts are available to provide the necessary support. Comfort and dignity are the anchors of hospice care. Our clinicians are highly skilled at recognizing and managing symptoms early, in most cases allowing the patient to remain comfortable at home throughout the end of their life.
