Aeon for Ocean (AFO), a 501(c)(3), our mission is to educate and increase awareness about ocean conservation and marine life amongst kids and their greater role in spreading the message to drive action. We are looking for someone to help support and expand our community engagement.

Role Description

Aeon for Ocean is seeking a candidate who is passionate to work with kids, marine life/ocean conservation and is willing to coordinate with Aeon for Ocean’s Krill to Whale (K2W) ambassadors and legal guardians on various programs/activities.

Responsibility:

  • Provide leadership, coordinate and communicate with K2W Ambassadors and execute Krill2Whale program
  • Ensure all K2W Ambassadors deliverables are aligned with Aeon for Ocean’s goals and mission
  • Point of contact for the Krill2Whale ambassadors at various geographical locations
  • Onboarding and training new K2W Ambassadors
  • Track K2W Ambassador yearly goals and document the progress
  • Review K2W ambassador deliverables and provide feedback/approval
  • Conduct monthly K2W ambassador meetings along with Chief Krill and document meeting minutes
  • Solicit feedback for K2W program from various sources like K2W ambassadors, teachers, etc., and share with Executive Director and/or other officers
  • Work closely with the Executive Director and HR to make sure policies and procedures are followed by K2W ambassadors
  • Document all communications with K2W Ambassadors, parents, school/community etc.,
  • Work closely with Education team and assist with the preparation of program materials for K2W ambassadors
  • Complete other assigned tasks as needed and requested by Executive Director, officers and/or the board

Qualifications:

  • People-person with positive attitude and resourceful approach
  • Proven experience in working with K to 12age groups
  • Bachelor's degree in Education or equivalent work experience
  • Excellent organizational skills and must be a self-starter
  • Work well in team settings with all age groups, especially kids
  • Passionate working with kids and making a difference
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills including public speaking experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites, Google Suite, etc.

On successful completion of minimum six (06) months, a letter of recommendation will be provided to the volunteer on his/her request.

Aeon for Ocean is a U.S.-based nonprofit founded by 7-year-old Aeon in Minnesota, to share knowledge about marine life, the oceans and our role in protecting this planet.

Our focus is on helping inland communities understand why the ocean matters and identify things they can do to protect the ocean. Through our Krill2Whale program and other initiatives, Aeon for Ocean is teaching kids they can save the World Ocean for eons!
