Congratulations!

You're among the greatest and most privileged. You're about to undertake what George Bernard Shaw called "The joy of being used for a purpose recognized by all as a mighty one."

By checking out this opportunity, you've shown your willingness to call on others for a cause of great importance. Once you're onboard, you'll be talking with friends, business colleagues, and perhaps even some people you don't know well.

That's what makes fundraising and your involvement so critically important, and at the same time such great fun!

Your task is vital because without your help Riverview Center couldn't exist. It couldn't balance its budget, provide its services, couldn't provide the space for survivors. You make it possible!

There's no such thing as an incorrect ask, but we're happy to provide you with tips and suggestions to be the most successful.

Riverview Center provides support and resources to survivors of sexual and domestic violence in 14 counties in Iowa and 2 counties in Illinois 24 hours, 7 days a week. In order to ensure that services can be provided, staff has the resources they need, and survivors have the support they deserve, Riverview Center relies on the support of the community with fundraisers and awareness events.

We are looking for creative, passionate individuals. Even if you have no prior fundraising experience, there's still a place for you on our team!

Some tasks include:

  • Outreach to local businesses to procure silent auction donation items for Evening of Light
  • Assistance during the Evening of Light event (accepting tickets, managing the silent auction, greeting guests, etc.)
  • Creating awareness displays at libraries, schools, and other organizations
  • Hosting a table at a health fair/expo
  • Planning and assistance for Domestic Violence Awareness Month (October)
  • Planning and assistance for Sexual Assault Awareness Month (April)
  • Planning and assistance for Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month (February)

Not sure if you have the skills needed to raise critical funds? All you need are the 3 E's: energy, enthusiasm, and empathy!

Get started today by completing an application on our website at www.riverviewcenter.org/volunteer. A Volunteer Coordinator will be in touch within 1-2 business days.

We can't wait to meet you!
