Have you served in the military? Do you come from a military background? Do you have experience working closely with someone who served in the military? We are looking for volunteers who have military experience and would like to volunteer their time and efforts with a Veteran patient. Cadence Hospice is national partner of We Honor Veterans, a pioneering campaign developed by the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization in collaboration with the Department of Veterans Affairs. Through this partnership, we ensure that our team has the knowledge and is equipped with the skills to provide the best care for our Veterans. We recognize that military history contributes significantly to the care we provide our Veteran patients.
Cadence Hospice strives to provide Veteran-centric care during end-of-life. A prominent need for Veteran Volunteers to volunteer their time with someone who is on hospice allows for sharing of stories and experiences. Veteran patients continue to be honored for the service they provided by allowing us the opportunity to serve them. Military experience is unique to those who have served and that camaraderie is a source of support and comfort at end-of-life.
Volunteers can dedicate time to our Veteran patients and enrich the lives of our patients by:
Assisting with pinning ceremonies, honoring, and presenting certificates
Participating in our legacy program (when appropriate) so our Veterans can tell their story
Providing support to families and loved ones
Educating the community about Veterans and hospice care
Participating in Veteran Cafes
And so much more!
All of us here at Cadence Hospice strive to serve our Veterans and their families and provide the best possible care wherever they call home. Respond to this post to find out how to become a hospice volunteer with us! We are actively recruiting for volunteers at this time. For most of the pandemic, hospice volunteers have not been able to make visits due to visits restrictions. We are taking the time to recruit more volunteers so that once visitations can resume we can hit the ground running with our new recruits. In the recent weeks, we have seen some forward motion towards resuming volunteer visits. Please respond for information on how you can volunteer with hospice! At Cadence Hospice, we strive to utilize the skills and time of our volunteers to help improve the quality of life for our patients. Your unique skills and generous time is exactly what a hospice patient needs. We proudly provide hospice services to patients across Orange County and are now branching into the nearest parts of LA and San Bernardino County.

At Cadence Hospice, we understand that this is a difficult time for family and friends. Our caring staff and volunteers endeavor to provide an atmosphere of love, caring, peace, and dignity to each individual we serve. We also want the patients and their families to have the opportunity to live the remainder of your life with respect, understanding and joy. Our volunteers have an opportunity to provide comfort care for the patient and/or families whether it be for 30 minutes to an hour during the patient visits. Our team strives to function with compassion and care in order to give the families and patients full support.
As a volunteer with Cadence Hospice you can make a positive impact in the lives of our patients, caregivers, and their families. Volunteers are an integral part of our program and the care we provide; we are always looking for compassionate individuals to join our Volunteer Program/Team. As a volunteer you can donate your time, at a patient’s place of residence, in a variety of ways including companionship and caregiver relief. While volunteering your time with our patients you could just sit and be present, share stories, watch a movie, listen to music, read aloud the patient’s favorite book, and much more!
Your service is invaluable to patients, their caregivers and families, and for our Cadence Hospice staff. Free training is provided to get you prepared to go out into the field, and staff is available to support you on your journey volunteering. Don’t pass up this amazing opportunity! We look forward to hearing from you!
