Welcome Bags & Comfort Cards for medical patients

We're looking for individuals or groups to purchase items and assemble Welcome Bags and Comfort Cards to give our medical and veteran guests who are staying here at the Guest House. Those staying with us are traveling long distances away from home and often spend long days in the hospital with their loved one or have outpatient treatments. A welcome gift in their room when they first arrive at the Guest House definitely lifts their spirits during this difficult, stressful time.
We encourage you or your group to do this project in our Guest House Community Room or you can do this offsite at your location if it's a larger group. We can schedule a time for some of your volunteers to come and deliver the bags to guest's doors. Suggested contents: water bottle, packaged snack items like trail mix, granola bars, a journal or puzzle book, plus an encouraging greeting card all contained in a bag with handles. Please feel free to include additional items such as corporate swag. Creativity is encouraged. After assembling, volunteers can deliver to each guest door of those staying at the Guest House or we have an easy drive-thru drop-off option and Guest House staff/volunteers will deliver the bags to guest rooms.

Commitment: 1x per quarter or per year, need enough supplies to make 24 - 48 bags depending on your budget and size of your group. Consider sponsoring supplies if your group is unable to assemble bags.
Healthy Best Practices: We ask that if coming to Guest House, that volunteers be healthy the day of the project to protect our immune-compromised guests.
