Get your exercise for the day and help improve your park at the same time, by lending a hand on our West Sycamore Volunteer Crew! Crews meet at 8:30 a.m. at the West Sycamore Staging Area (located at the Far East end of Stonebridge Parkway, cross street Via Santa Pradera, in Scripps Ranch), and work until 12:30 p.m. at the latest. Please bring work gloves and wear long pants and sturdy, closed-toe shoes. A hat, sunglasses and sunscreen are also recommended on sunny days. Water and snacks are provided. Description
San Diego's Park and Recreation Department is responsible for overseeing nearly 40,000 acres of developed and undeveloped open space, more than 340 parks including Balboa Park, Mission Trails Regional Park, and Mission Bay Park; 25 miles of shoreline from Sunset Cliffs to La Jolla; 13 pools; 3 public golf complexes; 56 recreation centers and more. Park and recreation professionals and volunteers host hundreds of community events each year and provide safe places for thousands of children to go after school. City employees and volunteers take great pride to enrich the lives of others through quality parks and programs, designed and developed so that people of all ages, abilities and income levels have the chance to participate in excellent recreational opportunities.
