Clean Up and Reorganizing Community Center - Hayward

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: The Salvation Army Alameda County

Salvation Army Shield

Help us clean up and reorganize our community center's storage areas after a break in.

With limited staff, the Hayward Community Center needs help so they can continue to provide services like free bag lunches, seniors programs, and After-the-Bell programs to school-aged children in the community.

Times are flexible, we are open Monday through Friday from 9a.m. to 6p.m and we can work with your schedule. If Saturday is better for your group we can usually make arrangements. We would really like this work done before we enter the holiday season as that is our busiest time of the year providing services to the community.

Requirements:

  • Children must be 15 years or older and accompanied by an adult.
  • Some volunteers may be asked to do some heavy lifting.

Description

The Salvation Army restores hope and transforms lives. Since 1865 we've been committed to defeating hunger, breaking addictions and rebuilding lives. Our reach is wide and deep - providing over 13,000 nights of lodging, 85,000 meals, and food for 5,700 families in Alameda County.

We provide rehabilitation and promote self-sufficiency, are a steadfast presence to the lonely and to those who have lost hope, we are the first on the scene of a disaster - and the last to leave.
