Hello! The salvation Army Tri Cities in Newark, ca is starting our 6 week Kids Music Program from March 24 - April 28. It will be every Friday from 4pm - 5pm. We are looking for a volunteer piano teacher to inspire our kids to be motivated and active in the program to gain confidence, balance, interaction, etc. in themselves and with others. We would like someone who can teach basic/beginner’s ESL English to Spanish classes. This time around, the class will be separated in two sections : Beginner's & Intermediate and we will need two volunteers; 1 for each class. Class would be held Wednesdays and Thursdays from 5:30pm to 7.30 pm. Starting as soon as possible. We are hoping to find a volunteer or two to teach either class session. We are looking for volunteers to help our Kitchen Staff in the mornings /evenings at the Oakland Family Emergency Shelter and garden street corps of the salvation army. The available time slots 6:00am - 7:30pm, Monday - Friday; we are looking for about 4 - 5 volunteers. Scheduling is flexible and we will accept any amount of time that you can volunteer with us. please contact us for more information jamie.morgan@usw.salvationarmy.org Positions consists of - Washing dishes, Prepping Food, Unloading / Stocking / Organizing, Overall assisting Kitchen needs weekdays we prepare meals for children enrolled at Booth Memorial Community Childcare and families living in our shelter, our staff/volunteers as well as 300 to-go lunches that are distributed around Oakland to local homeless camps and tiny home communities.
