We are looking for individuals who are feeling called to lead support groups for survivors of abuse and sexual trauma . Our program provides online support using the Zoom platform to facilitate support groups for individuals who are at least 18 years of age. Because of Covid, the number of groups we need to meet the demand for support has risen significantly.
We are looking for candidates who are able to commit to a weekly group that meets for 1.5 hours on a particular day/time each group, is able to meet once a month as support group facilitators for an hour, and who is willing to complete training in trauma awareness, related topics and on facilitation of a support group. Samples of groups for survivors we offer or wish to add are Grief & Loss, Addiction Recovery, Relapse Prevention, Emotion Stabilization, Coping with PTSD, Binge Eating and Trauma, Domestic Violence Recovery and more. If at all possible, the groups will be facilitated by 2 volunteers.
There is approximately a half-hour preparation for each group the week of group. Candidates should know that we are a faith-based organization and some of our groups are faith based while others are not. We provide support to any survivor who seeks support without discrimination, and we expect this of our volunteers as well. Anyone may volunteer, but faith based groups may only be facilitated by those who are Christians.
Any additional questions may be asked via email to Kristen@hope4-recovery.org.
