ORGANIZATION: Satellite Affordable Housing Associates

SAHA Logo
In December 2012, Satellite Housing and Affordable Housing Associates merged to create SAHA, an organization committed to providing quality, service-enriched, affordable housing to East Bay residents.

Helios Court on University Ave in Berkeley, is hosting Open Source Wellness for low income seniors. Open Source Wellness is most simply described as a "behavioral pharmacy" to help people with doctor recommendations such as, "Eat better," or "Exercise."

What that looks like is a lively get together once a week where residents exercise together (dance), talk about a variety of topics, and eat together. To really understand the energy and joyousness of the activity you need to be there, but in the mean time you can begin to understand it by watching this video or going to the Open Source Wellness website.

We are looking for an interpreter who will feel comfortable participating in the this active and lively environment rather than standing to the side, and only interpreting.

About SAHA: Satellite Affordable Housing Associates is committed to providing quality, service-enriched, affordable housing in the bay area. Our Community Engagement Program aims to connect SAHA’s residents with the surrounding neighborhood through innovative, high impact, and responsive programs that forge mutually beneficial relationships. By providing consistent, volunteer-led programming, we hope to build community at each of our properties while offering accessible socialization opportunities.
