Volunteer at McAuliffe Park Nursery

Join the Green Kirkland Partnership to help with the restoration of O.O. Denny Park. Volunteers are needed to help plant native trees & shrubs during the month of November. Other activities may include removing non-native invasive plants like English ivy and Himalayan blackberry. No experience is necessary and we encourage volunteers of all ages to join us!

This event will meet on November 4th, November 11th, November 25th, and December 2nd from 10am - 12pm.

What to Bring

Dress for the weather (layers are encouraged and rain gear is a must most times of year), wear close-toed shoes and clothes that you don't mind getting dirty. Bring a filled water bottle and snacks to munch on. Tools and training will be provided.

Meeting Location & Parking

This event will meet at the picnic table just above the eastern parking lot. This parking lot is the only non-lakeside lot and is near the entrance to the "Denny Creek Trailhead" which leads uphill to the northeast.

Mission Statement

Our Mission is to restore and maintain healthy forested and natural parklands by building a supportive community that works together to protect Kirkland’s valuable natural resources for current and future generations. Achieving this involves training and supporting volunteers in restoration activities.

Description

The Green Kirkland Partnership is an alliance between the City of Kirkland, nonprofit partners, businesses and the community to restore almost 500 acres of natural parkland in the City. The majority of the restoration efforts are accomplished by our dedicated volunteers. These volunteers may join us just one time or volunteer again and again. It takes everyone to restore our natural areas!
