In this volunteer position you will have the opportunity to serve our nation's heroes by being the warm, smiling face that greets Veterans and those accompanying them as the enter and navigate through the Minneapolis VA Medical Center.
First Impressions Volunteers: welcome Veterans, their family members and visitors into the facility; assist with questions; and, provide information, directions and wayfinding. Volunteers are positioned at stations throughout the facility including the main entrances, elevator banks and satellite waiting rooms.
Volunteers must be able to hear and communicate clearly and have excellent customer service.
With current OSHA and VA safety policies and procedures during the COVID pandemic, all Volunteers are required to wear a medical face mask. VHA Directive 1193 and VA Handbook 5019 requires that Volunteers in this role have a documented COVID-19 vaccine and Flu vaccine.Additionally, Wayfinding Volunteers will be provided with a face shield that will be required to be worn, along with their face mask, for the duration of their shift.
Current need for First Impression Volunteers:
Monday through Friday mornings 7:30am-11:30am
Monday through Friday afternoons 11:30am-3:30pm
