Since 2012 Project Paws Alive has been providing vital protective equipment to underfunded K9 units nationwide. We service Law Enforcement, Fire, Search & Rescue and Military K9 teams. Equipment donated includes but is not limited to: ballistic vests, cooling vests, first aid kits, narcan kits, and vehicle heat alarms. The need for this equipment continues to grow exponentially every year and we are seeking volunteers to help make an impact on these K9's lives.

This volunteer position is responsible for recruiting volunteers to support our K9 programs. The Volunteer Lead is responsible for cultivating and stewarding relationships with volunteers. You’ll be making direct contact with schools, churches, colleges, and other organizations in order to recruit volunteers for our remote and in-person event needs. You will work directly with our President and VP to develop and lead volunteer recruitment campaigns from start to finish. You’ll be responsible for recruiting, training, and retaining volunteers. The ideal candidate promotes an organizational culture that embraces effective communication, teamwork, collaboration, accountability and responsibility; and works to support these values. Access to our volunteer management software and marketing materials will be provided. Hours are flexible. This is a remote / work from home opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Build and supervise a volunteer team and report on its performance
• Implement new volunteer sourcing methods
• Recommend ways to improve our volunteer processes
• Contacts individuals and organizations by phone and in writing
• Assists/leads in the recruitment, selection, training, support and recognition of volunteers
• Communicate frequently with volunteers to ensure they are satisfied and well-placed
• Disseminate information for upcoming actions and events
• Supervise volunteers to ensure their activities and communications are in alignment to our organization’s mission, values, and policies
• Εnsure the purpose of the organization and its mission is clearly communicated
• Using our volunteer management software you will track volunteers’ involvement, such as number of hours served and impact; working to ensure volunteer engagement needs are met

• Leadership qualities; able to manage others (team management skills)
• Proactive, self-starter, able to use independent judgment and take initiative
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong training and presentation skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to relate effectively to people of diverse backgrounds, ages, and education levels
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
• Effective problem solver and decision maker
• Computer literate: MS Office Suite; Word, etc.
• Must have access to your own computer, email, and phone
• 18 years of age or older
