Social Media Coordinator Needed - Remote opportunity for animal / dog lovers

Flexible Schedule | Virtual Opportunity

Since 2012 Project Paws Alive has been providing vital protective equipment to underfunded K9 units nationwide. We service Law Enforcement, Fire, Search & Rescue, and Military K9 teams. The equipment provided is all new and custom fit. Equipment donated includes but is not limited to ballistic vests, cooling vests, first aid kits, Narcan kits, and vehicle heat alarms. The need for this equipment continues to grow exponentially every year and we are seeking volunteers to help make an impact on these K9's lives. Social Media Coordinator: This volunteer position is responsible for working closely with our Director to maximize our visibility and engagement online. Platforms include (but are not limited to) Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, Pinterest, Threads, TikTok and YouTube. Duties include helping to identify subject matter for posts, creating and coordinating our social media posts, helping us stay attuned to social media advancements, and related tasks. Hours are flexible, an average of 5 to 10 hours per week. This is a remote / work-from-home opportunity. Responsibilities: Research, identify, and screen subject matter for posts Ensure posts support our mission Prepare and submit social media posts using our accounts Recommend best practices and opportunities for us to improve our process Qualifications: Must reside in the USA Proficient in all aspects of social media. Certification is required. Excellent communication/writing skills and strong organizational skills The ideal candidate is a proactive self-starter who can use independent judgment and take initiative Must have access to a computer and phone 18 years of age or older All volunteers must submit to a criminal background check

Marketing / Media Specialist: We are looking for a marketing / media specialist to help us expand our reach to people who might like to help K9s (working dogs) through our programs. This is related to primarily traditional and internet media, rather than social media. Time commitment is flexible and this is a remote opportunity Responsibilities: You will work under the direction of our Director Contacting our list of media outlets such as magazines, newspapers, blogs, radio stations, etc. for in-kind (donated) published articles, features, or segments that are focused on spreading awareness of our mission and encouraging involvement Contacting specific media outlets to request media coverage of our fundraising projects and K9 equipment presentations Working with these agencies to manage and provide any content needed Writing content to submit to media outlets (if requested) Following up on publish/air dates and getting a file copy of the media Entering business/agency contact information into our database Qualifications: Must reside in the USA Established media, marketing, or communications experience is required Proficiency using Microsoft Word Excellent communication skills and strong organizational skills Self-starter, able to use independent judgment and take initiative Must have access to a computer and phone 18 years of age or older All volunteers must submit to a criminal background check

Project Paws Alive is dedicated to providing customized ballistic stab and bullet-protective K9 vests, K9 first aid field trauma kits, K9 cooling vests, K9 heat alarms, and other vital K9 equipment to Law Enforcement, Fire, Search & Rescue, and Military K9s throughout the US who cannot otherwise afford this equipment.

Description

Project Paws Alive is a nationwide 501c3 non-profit fundraising organization dedicated to providing customized ballistic stab and bullet-protective K9 vests, K9 first aid field trauma kits, K9 cooling vests, K9 vehicle heat alarms, and other vital K9 equipment to Law Enforcement, Fire, Search & Rescue, and Military K9s throughout the US who cannot otherwise afford this equipment.

The K9 equipment provided exceeds all NIJ and DOD requirements and is the best available. Most of the equipment we provide is military grade and is customized per each K9.

PPA is the only organization that provides K9 equipment to all four major working dog fields comprised of law enforcement, fire, search & rescue, and military K9 units nationwide.

We achieve this through private and corporate sponsorships, grants, and fundraising efforts.
