VOLUNTEER POSITION: Infant-Baby Room Support
YWCA Children’s Center Infant Room - Main Site
POSITION HOURS: Monday - Friday 9:00 am to 4:00 pm - Flexible
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Support staff by caring for infants and babies during play, feeding/meals and
Naptime. Implement the YWCA’s mission to: Eliminate racism, empower women, and promote peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be 18 years of age, or
- Must be at least 17 years of age, and in vocational for Early Education
- Enjoy working with infants and babies
- Willingness to hold, rock, and sing to infants and babies
- Demonstrated ability to work with people/children of diverse backgrounds
- Calm Demeanor
- Patience
- Empathy
- Knowledge handling and feeding infants and babies
- TB test if necessary
- Fingerprint if necessary

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide assistance to staff as needed
- Rock infants and babies
- Feed infants and babies (bottles/meals)
- Reading, and engaging and age-appropriate activities
- Assist staff with sanitation and clean-up
- Safeguard confidential information gained as a result of the volunteer position
- No diaper duty
TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
- Tour Children’s Center/Infant Room
- Children’s Center Orientation
- Review Volunteer Orientation, handbook, and job description
