KC Can is looking for a committed, experienced driver willing to donate 5-10 hours a week. He/she must possess or be willing to obtain a class E drivers license to drive our F-550 truck. Ideally, this candidate would also be interested in mentoring the interns during the routes. Mentoring involves building kind and supportive relationships and modeling a strong work ethic and positive work behaviors. The collection is currently scheduled on Mondays and Thursdays but there is flexibility as to when during the day the route is run.
About KC CAN COMPOST
4747 Troost 207M, Kansas City, MO 64110, US
KC Can is an innovative social and environmental enterprise that provides KC businesses, organizations, and residents an easy and affordable way to manage its food waste. We are unique in that we are also providing internship and employment opportunities to people who are recovering from homelessness and addiction.
KC Can was developed in tandem with Shelter KC, a local non-profit that provides relief and recovery services to our city's poor. The aim was to create a service that Kansas City needed and to provide dignified, living-wage employment to those in recovery. We received the Aaron L. Levitt Changemaker Award for our business model and have had an outpouring of support from local donors and foundations. Our service launched in May of 2019 and is taking off rapidly. The goal of the venture is twofold: to empower people and preserve the planet.
We'll work with your schedule.
