A Free Bird is a 501(C)(3) non-profit organization based in New York City. Our organization provides children diagnosed with cancer the opportunity to explore their artistic passions. Artistic expression has been proven to play an instrumental role in the healing process. We support children affected by cancer in their exploration of a range of self expression through art, music, acting, poetry, writing, singing and other creative mediums.
We are currently seeking a lawyer to support our organization with the development and handling of contracts, by-laws, and the assessment of financial opportunities. This role would also consist of advising on operational issues and involvement in legal proceedings. Ideally, you will have in-depth knowledge of legal matters relating to nonprofits.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in law
- Experience representing 501(c)(3) charitable organizations on corporate and tax matters
- Strong legal research, analytical, and writing skills
