ORGANIZATION: Lantern Community Services

  • 11 people are interested

Lantern Community Services is a social services organization that provides services to people who are formerly homeless or have recently aged out of foster care. We do this through our supportive housing program, which is based on the latest evidence of what provides the most benefit to our clients. Our programs support our clients in the areas of health, employment, education, and life skills and are delivered inside our residences.

Lantern is looking for volunteers who can give an hour each week on Monday from roughly 11am-12pm to help Chef Louise in giving Lantern residents a cooking class. This is one of the most popular activities in the building and an extra hand would ensure that all residents can partake in and enjoy learning these new cooking skills!

Lantern has various locations across New York City from the Bronx, Upper and Mid Manhattan, to Brooklyn and Queens, so there's a location for everyone to serve even if this location doesn't fit your schedule!
