Volunteering is a work of heart

Volunteers can truly touch the lives of the patients and families in Hospice who are facing a terminal illness by providing patient & family support and caregiver relief. They provide emotional support and practical assistance that enhances the comfort and quality of life for patients and caregivers.

Hospice Volunteers are members of the Interdisciplinary Care Team, are trained in infection control and are equipped with proper PPE to conduct in-person visits with patients and their families. Covid-19 vaccine and booster required. Volunteer tasks may also include:

  • Giving relief to family caregivers in the home to allow them some special time to rest and relax.
  • Sharing a hobby or interest.
  • Reading to the patient
  • Preparing light meals
  • Listening to music together.
  • Visiting with the patient and family.
