Sign up today to be a Camp Counselor at Phoenix Center for the Arts! You will experience new art forms, earn free art classes, and develop skills working with children aged 5-14. Camp volunteers assist Camp Managers and instructors with day-to-day activities including, but not limited to, art classes, lunchtime, before and after care, classroom prep, and performances.

Ages 17+
**All volunteers 18 and older must submit a copy of their fingerprints for a background check

October 7th-11th 8am-5pm
**Half Day shifts available

Main Job Duties:

  • Be on time and enthusiastic each day
  • Notify Camp Manager of any illness or absence as soon as possible
  • Serve as a role model for campers by promoting respectful interactions and participation
  • Assist with ensuring the safety of campers by following camp procedures and routines
  • Lead a group of up to 15 campers and participate in all activities with groups
  • Transition assigned campers between classes
  • Assist with planning and implementation of camp activities
  • Recognize and respond to conflicts

Phoenix Center for the Arts is a historic building located in downtown Phoenix well-suited to provide art, music and performing arts classes and programs. The facility, known to most as the Phoenix Center for the Arts or The Center, is managed by the Phoenix Center Arts Association, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.
