Abundance Dinner and Auction Event Help
ORGANIZATION: Emergency Food Network
Please visit the new page to apply.
Every fall, Emergency Food Network puts on this fun-filled evening for a good cause! Guests enjoy a meal, desserts, and a live auction, and the proceeds help support hunger relief in Pierce County. You can help with set up, sell raffle tickets, spot bid numbers, and more.
The afternoon/evening includes four different opportunities:
--Greeters and Silent Auction Managers: During the first half of the evening, these volunteers greet guests, hang coats, and keep the silent auction organized. After the silent auction closes, managers close out the bid sheets and box up items in preparation for pick up at the end of the event.*
-Raffle Sellers and Live Auction Spotters: This is a great position to do with a buddy! Encourage a friend, co-worker, or spouse to join you. During the first half of the evening, these volunteers sell raffle tickets to guests. Once the live auction begins, spotters help the auctioneers to help spot bidders!
--Runners and Recorders: This is a very important task during the live auction. Recorders will be recording the bid number that the auctioneers yells out as the winner of each item, while runners will be taking that information back and forth to the "bank."
Additionally, if you are willing to stay until 11:00 pm to help clean up, it would be much appreciated! *
*Volunteers must be able to life up to 30 Lbs. repeatedly for this role.
If any of these opportunities sound enjoyable to you, please contact MadisonS@efoodnet.org or (253) 584-1040 to register.
There is also a morning set up opportunity; see separate listing.

Mission Statement
The mission of Emergency Food Network is "to provide Pierce County with a consistent, diverse and nutritious food supply so that no person goes hungry."
Description
"Currently, 1 in 10 people in Pierce County face food insecurity, and this need is continuing to rise. Through our 75+ Partner Programs (food pantries, meal sites, and shelters) all over Pierce County, EFN distributed over 14 million pounds of food in 2023 to our neighbors in need, including fresh produce grown at EFN’s Mother Earth Farm. This work was made possible by our 2,000+ volunteers, who worked over 12,000 hours in 2023. Volunteer work is vital in helping EFN pursue our mission of ensuring no person goes hungry. Volunteer opportunities include the Repack Project, Home Delivery, EFN’s Mother Earth Farm, and special events throughout the year. We hope you will join us!"
