ORGANIZATION: Sound Generations

Volunteer driver and a client

Are you looking for something fun to do... do you like to drive... do you want to make a difference? Volunteer driving with Sound Generations' Volunteer Transportation program is an opportunity to help seniors in your community.

Volunteer drivers, using their own vehicle (mileage reimbursement is an option), help older adults maintain their independence by taking them to medical appointments. Clients are enormously grateful for their improved access to medical care, meaningful interactions with caring volunteers, and increased peace of mind.

This opportunity is very flexible: drivers choose how many rides they want to give each week, what day and time, and to what area they want to drive. Most volunteers drive once a week, some much more and others less. Rides are scheduled at least a week in advance.

Honestly, our volunteer drivers do a lot more than drive, they provide assurance, connection and companionship. Help make a difference in the lives of seniors near you by becoming a volunteer driver.

"You have done wonders for my life. I would not have been able to stay in my own home for as long as I have without your help. Thank you for all you do." Jeanne, 84

**Note: WE NEED DRIVERS THROUGHOUT KING COUNTY!! You would drive seniors who live near your home.
