Volunteer driver and a client

Give Rides to Change Lives!

Volunteer drivers for the Sound Generations' Volunteer Transportation program, using their own vehicle (mileage reimbursement is an option), help older adults maintain their independence by taking them to medical appointments. Clients are enormously grateful for their improved access to medical care, meaningful interactions with caring volunteers, and increased peace of mind.

This opportunity is extremely FLEXIBLE: volunteers pick the days, times, frequency, and areas they wish to drive. Rides are scheduled at least a week in advance and volunteers can change their schedule weekly if needed.

Honestly, volunteer drivers provide more than a ride... they provide assurance, human connection, and peace of companionship. Help make a difference in the lives of seniors near you by becoming a volunteer driver.

"You have done wonders for my life. I would not have been able to stay in my own home for as long as I have without your help. Thank you for all you do." Jeanne, 84

**Note: WE NEED DRIVERS THROUGHOUT KING COUNTY!! You would drive seniors who live near your home.

About Sound Generations

2208 Second Avenue, Suite 100, Seattle, WA 98121, US

Mission Statement

Sound Generations, established in 1967, is Washington State's most comprehensive non-profit organization that supports people on their aging journey through community connections and accessible services. Established in 1967, we support almost 54,000 older adults, disabled persons, and those who care for them annually in King County.

Our eleven programs operating throughout numerous community and senior center sites are constantly striving to expand the provision of food security, transportation, health & wellness, and assistance services to under served and marginalized populations. We are committed to helping all people, especially those in low-income communities and communities of color, obtain the services they need while feeling included and respected in a community that affirms aging.

Sound Generations service area: King County, WA.

Our services, and volunteer opportunities, are located at multiple sites throughout King County.
