Are you passionate about childhood and early literacy? This may be the perfect fit for you.

Our Tippecanoe Library (3912 S. Howell Ave) is looking for a weekly volunteer to assist with their Play Group with Stories program on Thursday mornings.

Geared towards children ages 1-4 with a parent or guardian, our Play Group with Stories features a 20-minute story time lead by the Children's Librarian, complete with songs, finger plays, and other participatory activities to help children learn important literacy skills, followed by 40 minutes of open play time with a variety of age-appropriate, educational toys.

The volunteer with this weekly program will help prep materials and assist with room set up, participate in story time activities, and interact with children during open play time.

HOW TO BECOME A VOLUNTEER:

WHEN:
Thursdays from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or GED equivalency.
- Previous experience working with children.
- Interest in ready and early childhood literacy.
- Friendly, outgoing personality.
