Hospice Volunteers needed at Roseville sites
Suncrest Hospice is looking for volunteers to join the Suncrest Team as we provide excellent care and support to our hospice patients and their families in their homes and care facilities. We serve families in the Sacramento area including parts of Yolo and Placer Counties.
The philosophy of hospice care is to provide comfort and the highest quality of life that one can achieve at end of life. Through an interdisciplinary team: nurse, nurse assistant, social worker, chaplain and volunteers, we help the patient and family walk through their journey.
As a volunteer, you can choose between many opportunities: the gift of companionship, emotional support to the patient and the family, respite for the caregiver, listening to or playing music, reading, bringing trained dog for comfort, birthday celebrations. Volunteers are assigned 1 or more patients to visit on a weekly basis. Visits are usually around 1 hour and bring such joy and comfort to a hospice patient.
Volunteers are trained in their role with patients, we are required to conduct background checks and TB and drug testing, at no charge to all volunteers.
Please contact the volunteer coordinator, Sarah Sanford, at the office at 916-928-0102 or firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
