Are you looking for something fun to do... do you like to drive... do you want to make a difference? If you answered yes to any or all these questions, being a volunteer driver with Sound Generations Volunteer Transportation program is worth pursuing. As a volunteer driver you serve seniors in your community while scheduling the amount of time you want to be involved.

Using your own vehicle (mileage reimbursement is available), you help older adults maintain their independence by taking them to much needed medical appointments. Clients are enormously grateful for their improved access to medical care, meaningful interactions with caring volunteers, and increased peace of mind.

Our volunteer drivers do a lot more than drive! By volunteering with Sound Generations Volunteer Transportation Program, drivers provide needed transportation and companionship. We look forward to connecting with you!

Sound Generations, established in 1967, is Washington State's most comprehensive non-profit organization that supports people on their aging journey through community connections and accessible services. Established in 1967, we support almost 54,000 older adults, disabled persons, and those who care for them annually in King County.

Description

Our eleven programs operating throughout numerous community and senior center sites are constantly striving to expand the provision of food security, transportation, health & wellness, and assistance services to under served and marginalized populations. We are committed to helping all people, especially those in low-income communities and communities of color, obtain the services they need while feeling included and respected in a community that affirms aging.
