ORGANIZATION: ANOKA COUNTY RSVP

Volunteers are vital to feeding hungry neighbors in the Community. NACE Food Shelf receives rescued produce and is looking for interested volunteers to work with food rescue and clean fruits and vegetables for both Tuesday and Wednesday deliveries arriving at 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM.

Volunteers are also needed to serve the 1st and 3rd Thursdays (occasionally a 5th Thursday) from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM to assist the public with remaining fresh produce give away.

Volunteers could also consider supporting these on-going opportunities:

  • Sort food donations
  • Re-stock food shelf items
  • Assist clients with choosing which items they need

The Anoka County RSVP connects people age 55 and over who want to volunteer with non-profit and social service programs in Anoka County who need volunteers. Volunteers enroll by completing a skills and interests checklist and these are matched to community needs. From the matches, the volunteer selects a volunteer job that is meaningful and fits. Become one of nearly a half million RSVP volunteers across the country who are making a difference in their community.
