Neighborhood Youth Association is a nonprofit organization that provides academic tutoring, leadership development and life skills to low-income and at-risk youth. We are based in Venice, and serve students after school from south and west LA.
As part of our program, NYA provides elective classes. We would like to offer an improv class. This class would be 1-2 hours, once a week for the school year (after school). We are flexible on the time and can work with the volunteers' schedules. The class would be offered to both elementary school students (grades 1-5) and middle school students (grades 6-8). Improv classes in the past have been extremely popular and successful in helping students build their confidence and public speaking skills.
We do not require prior teaching experience, but are looking for people who are passionate about contributing to the community.
