Neighborhood Youth Association is a nonprofit organization that provides academic tutoring, leadership development and life skills to low-income and at-risk youth. We are based in Venice, and serve students after school from south and west LA.
NYA has a successful college prep program; 100% of our students are first generation, and matriculate to higher education after high school. We are looking for a volunteer who is comfortable tutoring SATs/standardized test skills to a small group of students (5-8 students) for one hour a week throughout the school year. We do not require prior tutoring experience, and will provide any materials. We are looking for people who are passionate about contributing to the community and social justice!

Description
NYA offers services that are long term and concentrated, adapted to meet the individual needs of each child and are measured against tangible goals. We have locations in Venice, Mar Vista (West LA), Downtown LA, Mid-City, and South LA/Harbor Gateway.
